Hello! Hello! Karen here! I'm a Visual Development artist trying to find a spot in this big crazy world we live in. Welcome to this tiny space where I share my work with all of you. If you want to know a little bit more about me, just keep reading below.
I’m a professional cat hugger, born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela. Aside from my cat hugging talents, I have a degree in Illustration granted by the “Instituto de Diseño de Caracas”, and art institute located in the heart of my native country. With a basic knowledge of the animation pipeline that I learned there, I had the amazing opportunity to expand my skills as a background painter for “Kaporito”, an animated film produced by a Venezuelan studio. Thanks to the wonderful team of artists that worked with me during the production of the film, I learned that this was my dream and decided to leave my country in pursue of it. Now I’m a recent Graduate from the Savannah College of Art and Design, with a degree in Animation. Seeking this degree in animation I discovered that I love animation, and my true passion is visual storytelling, where I can combine my illustration skills with the knowledge in animation to create something even bigger.
I love to transmit feelings through color and lighting, focusing mainly on small details. Details can say so much about the character, the props and the environment. Each element creating their own story. I want to be able to create a moment in time, where you can get lost inside for a minute and feel the story as real as your own, even though it isn't. I want to build and share the experiences that inspired me with others.
Thank you for your attention!
